Tesla’s First 30 Model 3s Hits The Road In Historic Moment

A euphoric event marked the pinnacle of a long journey to deliver electric cars at an affordable price. The first three vehicles of Tesla namely the Roadster, Model S and Model X made electric cars fantastic. But the high price of $100,000 made it available to few only as all people can’t afford expensive cars. So here is good news for electric car lovers, Tesla unveiled Model 3 Sedan on Friday starting at $35,000.

In a recently held ceremony Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla delivered the initial 30 Model 3s to 30 employees chosen to be the model’s first owners. It was an important event in Tesla’s history, Musk told reports “This is a great day for Tesla; it was never our goal just to make expensive cars. We wanted to make cars everyone could buy.” Musk also added that the reservation number for electric car Model 3s is more than half a million. If those reservations turn into real orders then Model 3 would be among the best-selling cars in the United States.

According to Tesla’s chief designer Franz von Holzhausen, whatever they do at Tesla has to be beautiful and the beauty is only great if it’s functional. To make the car feel more spacious Franz singled out the Model 3’s glass roof. The popularity of Tesla made some positive changes in auto-industry and gave a new way to rise with electric vehicles. Tesla has set a challenge to deliver more electric vehicles quickly. According to Tesla, they have to be minimalist to produce more cars faster. Model 3’s door handles are manual. It has few bells and whistles; the body is half steel rather than all aluminum. The Model has one screen on the dashboard.

Tesla standard Model 3 has a battery range of 220 miles and it is touted as the first “mass-market” electric car. It reaches from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Customers can give extra bucks for additional features like fancier wheels, a larger battery, metallic paint and autonomous driving features. This model has a four-year warranty for 50,000-mile limit while the battery’s warranty is extended to eight years and 100,000 miles. Though it is a slimmed down feature set, yet the Model 3 has distinct stylings to gain huge attention and appreciation of people. One of the most important and open questions that are revolving around people’s mind is about Model 3’s self-driving capabilities. Tesla has a reputed market for the self-driving feature. It has quite good assisting tools for self-driving such as lane keeping and automated lane changes. The company assures customers with the hardware necessities for full self-driving capabilities. It will issue new updates with improvement in self-driving software. Ultimately Tesla expects the car will drive itself.
