Technology and software giant Microsoft today released the preview of its latest Windows 10 version. The company announced that the new version for PC’s has all the incredible features and upgrades like Eye Control feature, along with improvements to Edge, Console, input, and Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG). The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is all set to arrive in late September or early October 2017.
The company holds high regards for Windows 10 as it claimed to be miles ahead of its predecessors. The service was developed in a very different way and a regular update doesn’t only mean fixes but new features too. There are three major updates that will be part of the whole Windows 10 story namely, November Update, Anniversary Update, and Creators Update. The biggest eye grabbing feature is the Tobii’s eye tracking technology. The feature comes as a revelation as it enables people with disabilities to operate a computer with an onscreen mouse, keyboard, and text-to-speech option. All this can be done by just using eyes only.
For now, Microsoft has plans for the Eye Control only in the beta version with an EN-US keyboard layout. However, more keyboard layouts are on their way. All the features are compatible with Tobii hardware which include Tobii Eye Tracker 4C etc. The company, however, plans to make it compatible with other hardware options as well in the future. The Edge is inspired by Microsoft’s Fluent Design Systems with better transparency and more responsive buttons.
Apart from the looks, Microsoft has made significant changes to the address bar. Now you don’t have to deal with the annoying “http://” every time you drag text, copy images, close tabs in full screen or minimize modes. As part of the Creators Update, the default colors of Windows Console will be getting a facelift for the first time in over 20 years. The touch keyboard is faster from taskbar while the bugs related to dictation and Japanese keyboards have also been removed. The detailed information about the improvements and bug fixes are as follows.
The company has fixed unexpected texts shown for battery flyout. Now there is no loss of network settings getting lost while making updates. The static IP addresses will not be affected and the private networks will remain secured. A major issue with earlier Microsoft Edge was that when you got back to the same page from a new tab then the Narrator started reading from the top. This problem was really a mess in Windows phones, this has been rectified. Now you will get back to the same point where you left. You will no more see the “Working on it…” while looking for files on the Windows Search Service.
To make games more fun, the company plans to make PC’s free from the hang. Certain games that created problems in the past were, Wargaming’s World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes.
