With the 70th Independence Day just around the corner, businesses are looking to make more and more of this opportunity. While it looks like an all out competition between different companies, it will be a win-win situation for the customers. A hot competition going on at the moment is between two E-commerce giants in the country, Amazon India, and Flipkart.
The two companies are going all out against each other with Amazon having the Great Indian Sale and Flipkart having the Big Freedom Day Sale. Both the companies are luring customers with huge discounts and exclusive offers on a wide range of products. The sale kicked off on August 9 and will run until midnight of August 11.
Owing to the success of iPhone across the Indian market, both Amazon and Flipkart are offering attractive discounts on iPhones. Both the platforms are offering iPhones for exchange at really lucrative prices. But what is interesting to see is that both the companies are offering iPhone 7 for the same price. The scene, however, is different when it comes to iPhone 7 Plus. With a flat discount of Rs. 10,301, Flipkart is offering iPhone 7 Plus (32GB) at Rs. 56,999. On the other hand even after discount Amazon is offering iPhone 7Plus at Rs.61, 499. When we talk about the 256GB variant, Flipkart is offering a flat discount of Rs 12,401 and selling at Rs 72,999. The phone is originally priced at Rs. 85,400.
Samsung also holds a significant share of the Indian mobile market and both the companies are going at it. While Amazon is offering up to Rs 1400 off on Samsung phones, Flipkart is ready to give up to Rs 3,000 off. Xiaomi phones are also grabbing the Indian market for quite some time now. For the first time ever Redmi Note 4 was up for sale under an offer at Flipkart. There are an additional Rs. 1000 off on exchange value that is limited to Big Freedom Day Sale only. What is interesting to know is that Amazon is not offering any offers on Redmi Note 4.
Flipkart seems to run away when we talk about clothes and accessories. This is primarily because the company owns brands like Jabong and Myntra. On the other hand, Amazon clearly looks to steer ahead if we talk about home appliances.
To make the process easier for customers both the companies have kept easy and hassle free payment options. Flipkart offers HDFC Bank debit and credit card holders an instant discount of 10%. This offer is limited to a minimum purchase of Rs 3000 and lasts only during the Big Freedom Day Sale. On the other hand, Amazon offers cashback of up to 15% of purchases made with SBI debit and credit cards.
